Week 4 Update (2024 Chicago Marathon Training)
Finding Balance Between Training and Enjoying Life
Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
In my previous post, I shared the challenges and successes of Week 3 in my Chicago Marathon training journey. As I wrap up Week 4, I’m excited to share how I managed my training routine amidst work and attending two high school graduation parties.
Running Routine
This week, the weather played a bit of a spoiler, with rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning. As a result, I had to push my 12-mile long run to Monday. Despite this, I completed all my planned runs for the week, including two 4-mile short runs and a 12-mile long run.
Strength Training
I also continued my strength training, completing two days of workouts. One of these sessions was particularly enjoyable as I worked out with my friend Tiffany at CrossFit. Having a workout buddy is always great to keep the motivation high.
Nutrition and Enjoyment
On the nutrition front, I stuck to my plan of eating healthy and nutritious food about 80% of the time. The graduation parties were a delightful distraction, and I indulged more than usual. However, I told myself that enjoying life’s celebrations is essential while maintaining a healthy balance.
Weight Loss Progress Update
In these four weeks, I’ve lost 3 pounds, going from 266 to 263. This is steady progress, and I’m pleased with the results.
