Kicking Off My Training for the 2024 Chicago Marathon
Embracing Fitness, Shedding Pounds, and Running Towards My Goals
Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
After a refreshing break following the Chicago 13.1 Half-Marathon, I’m excited to share that today marks the beginning of my training for the Chicago Marathon, which will be held on October 13, 2024.
This will be my third marathon and my second time running in Chicago.
My Training Plan
To prepare for this incredible journey, I’ll run at least thrice weekly, including one long run each week. In addition to running, I’ll commit to two to three days of strength training and one day of active rest.
A Weight Loss Goal
One of my major goals is to shed the extra pounds I gained over the winter and spring. I weigh 265 pounds, but I’m determined to reach the 230s. With 17 weeks ahead, losing 2 pounds a week through mindful eating and consistent exercise feels achievable.
Weekly Updates
I plan to share a weekly update every Sunday after my long run. This update will include my meals and metrics for running and weight loss.
