Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
Today on this beautiful morning as I write this post I am grateful for the opportunity I get to watch rainfall outside through my bedroom window. There is something undeniably captivating about the arrival of rain especially after a long dry spell.
Growing up in Bombay, there is nothing quite like the fresh earthy smell that rises up from the ground after the first rain for the season that fills the air and with a sense of renewal and growth. Feeling every raindrop soaking my skin reminds me of the beauty and wonder of this incredible world I live in.
The rejuvenating power of rain plays a vital role in bringing new life and vitality to the plants and trees, while filling the air with the sound of rustling leaves and dripping water. It makes me appreciate this beautiful spectacle of nature and I can feel how interconnected and one I am with our universe.
The sounds of raindrops falling on my roof when I am home, or on my car as I am driving, soothes me and helps create a meditative backdrop to my day. There have been times when I have meditated to the sounds of rain giving me an opportunity to reflect and contemplate. I feel blessed that I get to experience such simple pleasures in life that do not cost anything.
The beauty and serenity of rainy days serves as a reminder for me that even in the midst of life’s storms there is always hope of warm, brighter and clearer days ahead, bringing in the possibility of growth and transformation.
I am committed to playing my part in taking care of our planet so that future generations can enjoy the beauty and wonder of this incredible world we live in.
