Embracing Gratitude for the Comfort, Style and Personality Provided by Curtains
A Gratitude Journal Entry
Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
Today on this wonderful day as I gaze outside through my window, I am grateful to the curtains on my windows that create a cozy and private environment in my home, while being aesthetically pleasing. It may seem like a small addition to a room, but they serve a multitude of purposes beyond simply blocking out the light.
Curtains help block excess sunlight and help maintain comfortable temperature inside. On hot summer days curtains provide a welcome relief from the heat, while in the winter they help retain warmth and keep energy costs down.
For me personally, curtains create a sense of privacy that allows me to enjoy the tranquility of my home without feeling exposed to the outside world. It’s a testament to their functional brilliance that they allow natural light to flow in, while keeping prying eyes at bay.
Curtains also add a unique style and personality to any room. Right from their color and texture of the fabric, to the way they are hung, curtains have the ability to completely transform the look and feel of a space. I really enjoyed shopping for my curtains to fit my personal style that would create a warm and inviting atmosphere in my home. I selected darker shades for the bedroom and family room that had a home theater, and selected sheer curtains for the living room that provided a soft look and elegance.
I realize that blinds offer similar utility, and while it may be true, curtains have a certain charm and warmth that in my opinion blinds simply cannot replicate. The softness of the fabric, gentle sway as they catch a breeze, and the way they frame a window, all add to a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that is very hard to resist.
All in all curtains (or blinds) are small but an essential part of any home and I am grateful for this simple yet such an impactful addition to my home, adding to my home’s visual appeal.
