Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
On this beautiful day as my son gets ready for school, I am eternally grateful for the educational and learning infrastructure that public schools have provided for both my kids. Public schools have not only shaped their academic growth but also their personality and value system.
The sense of community created by our public schools between students, families, support staff and teachers is unparalleled. It has helped my kids immensely in building friendship and social skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom and have an impact throughout their lives.
One of the most significant things that public schools have taught my kids is about inclusivity and diversity. As our world gets more and more interconnected, appreciating and embracing diversity has become more crucial than ever. I am glad that my kids have learned about not only embracing diversity but also celebrating the differences that make us unique.
It was truly amazing to witness the adaptability and resilience that the public schools in our district had shown during the pandemic. They were quick to pivot into remote learning and implementing safety measures to protect the wellbeing of all students and supporting staff. This level of dedication to ensure continuity of education even during a pandemic speaks to the commitment of public schools to the success and growth of our children.
The extracurricular activities provided by the school for my kids, especially band and basketball, have enabled them to explore their interests and develop teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
As I continue to navigate the ever changing educational landscape I am confident and have faith in the ability of our public schools to rise to any challenges that lie ahead, and continue to build on the strong foundation and prepare our kids for a brighter future.
