Embracing Gratitude for Forest Preserves and the Beauty of the Great Outdoors
A Gratitude Journal Entry
Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
Today as I write this post after having a peaceful sleep, I am grateful for living in the Chicagoland area that gives me easy access to forest preserves. I feel truly blessed that I have this wonderful gift of nature and that I get to experience its unspoiled beauty by hiking in the forest preserves.
I feel truly mesmerized whenever I wander through the woods and soak in all its ambience and beauty. It heightens all my senses whether it's witnessing the intricate details of the natural world, listening to birds chirping, feeling the wind and warmth of sun hitting my body, smell of trees and flowers, or even the feeling of the earth’s surface beneath my feet. The beauty of the natural world is simply breathtaking and having such a visceral experience literally takes my breath away.
Being able to experience the healing power of nature brings my own existence into perspective. It serves as a humbling reminder as to how small we are as humans in the grand scheme of things, but still a part of the interconnectedness of all living beings.
Being in nature not only helps alleviate any stress that I feel from the daily struggles of life, but also gives me an opportunity for reflection and personal growth. It’s a true blessing that I will never take for granted.
Each and every moment I spend outdoors serves as a reminder of the incredible beauty that surrounds us. I am inspired to play my part in protecting and preserving this natural wonder so that future generations can continue to experience the beauty and its healing power for themselves.
