Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
I am eternally grateful for being able to cross the finish line at the Brew City Half-Marathon today in Milwaukee. This is my second half-marathon, the last one was early December.
I had a rough last four months with me feeling really down during winter after my first half-marathon. I gained 15 Pounds!
With support from fellow runners, friends and loved ones, I pulled myself up and started my training again 6 weeks ago. As of this morning I had lost 8 pounds.
I didn’t realize how much of a performance hit I took running with excess weight. This has motivated me to always remain consistent and keep training.
I had learnt my lesson from my first half-marathon where I struggled for the last 3 miles as I didn’t plan for hydration and nutrition. Today I went into the race with a concrete plan and I am glad I stuck with it throughout the race.
I am really proud of myself for how I ran my race today.
I am committed to continuing my training for my first marathon at the 2023 Chicago Marathon.
❤️ Rajneesh
