Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
Today on this beautiful morning as I stand next to my closet getting ready for my day, I am filled with gratitude for having a closet full of clothes that I get to wear everyday, and the many roles that clothes play in my life. The simple act of selecting an outfit and getting dressed is such a source of joy and self-care for me.
My clothes that seem like simple everyday items protect me from extreme elements of nature. Be it the scorching summer heat or bitter winter cold, they shield me and keep me safe and comfortable.
Far beyond their practical purpose, my clothes also serve as an extension of my personality allowing me to showcase my taste, my sense of personal style and preferences to the world. Whether it’s a casual look with jeans and t-shirt, or a more formal one with a suit, the clothes I wear have a profound impact on how I feel and how I am perceived by others.
I am especially grateful for my old and torn sleeveless t-shirt that I wear and go to sleep. I don’t know what it is about this t-shirt that I want it with me whenever I go to bed. It brings me cherished memories, peace and comfort like no other nightwear.
I tend to often overlook the countless ways in which clothes add value to my life, and allow me to face the world with confidence and ease.
As I go about my life continuing to explore the world of fashion and build on my wardrobe, I am committed to taking care of them and appreciate them for years to come.
