Dear Duniyawaalo (People of the World),
Today on this wonderful spring morning as I get ready for my day, I am grateful for having a clean bathroom and hot water to shower. They help me start my day by freshening up and staying clean. It may seem such a small and basic thing, but they have a big impact on my health, happiness and overall quality of life.
Having access to a clean bathroom and hot water not only promote good hygiene and cleanliness but also contribute to my overall sense of well-being. A warm shower helps me by washing away germs and bacteria, and prevents illnesses and infections. Having clean water to brush my teeth and wash my hands has played a key role in my overall health.
My morning warm bath soothes me, invigorates my senses and sets a positive tone for the day ahead. There is nothing quite like taking a hot shower at the end of a long and busy day to wash away all the stress.
It never ceases to amaze me that such simple acts of self-care improves my mood, boosts my confidence, capability and instills a sense of inner peace. It is a source of comfort and happiness for me.
It is not lost on me that amenities like clean bathrooms and hot water may seem like basic necessities for me, but they remain out of reach for countless individuals around the world. I am reminded of this every time I travel to a place where clean water is hard to come by, or it’s only available for certain hours of the day. Not to mention in other places bathroom facilities are subpar or there is a long queue to use them. When I am personally faced with such challenges, it makes me appreciate my own bathroom at home even more.
I am also grateful to the construction workers who built my home, to the utility workers who maintain my water systems, and countless people who contribute to the conveniences and comforts I enjoy every day. It helps me foster a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness and interdependence that characterize our modern world.
